AIDA 2

Becoming a Safe Freediver

Beginner Freediver Course

12- 20 meters

The AIDA 2 Course covers the necessary skills and knowledge for a non-competitive recreational freediver to safely learn to freedive. It is a beginner course designed for students who are already confident in the water, who have joined our AIDA 1 or Skindving course and for someone who can already skindive/fundive to depths of around 8m comfortably.

Dive into the exciting world of freediving with our AIDA 2 course, 3 full day duration, perfect for water lovers whom are already skilled in skindiving or snorkeling, as well as water activity professionals like underwater photographers and tour guides, this course is designed to introduce you to the exhilarating sport of freediving. It includes theory and practice sessions which help you develop the knowledge and skills necessary to enjoy freediving safely. Learn proper breathing techniques, familiarise yourself with diaphragmatic breathing and take a deep breath like you never did before!

Students will be introduced to the basic disciplines of freediving: Static Apnea, Dynamic Apnea, Free Immersion and Constant Weight freediving.
The static and dynamic sessions in confined water are to be used to teach relaxation, breathing, finning and safety techniques.

In the open water sessions students will use the skills they have learned in the pool / confined water sessions and will combine these with the basic skills of open water freediving such as Equalizing, Duck Diving, Vertical Swimming (cwtb), Body Positioning, Turns and Use of Buoyancy.

Safety is our utmost priority, and in this course, you will learn vital safety skills, which we consider the most important part of freediving. You will learn rescue techniques, buddy systems, and emergency procedures, empowering you with the knowledge to navigate potential risks with confidence.

In addition to the breath-hold training, we have dedicated sessions of stretching for freediving before our open water sessions.

Upon successful completion of the course, you will receive an AIDA international online Certification.

By the end of the course, students will be able to hold their breath for at least 2 minutes, swim 40 meters in dynamic apnea and perform comfortable dives to between 12 and 20 meters depth (cwtb).
